Clubroom Employee Keegan Wiltshier Caddies for Harry Hillier at The New Zealand Open
Peter Millar Player Harry Hillier has shown he's no stranger to going low, producing the low round of the day at The New Zealand Open by shooting an impressive eight-under 63. This came after a humble 73 on the previous day, proving his ability to bounce back.
Hillier's talent on the golf course is not new, having shot a round of 59 at his home course Te Puke just five weeks prior. However, he acknowledged that the recent tournament presented a new set of challenges.
“I shot 59, 60, 60 a few weeks ago but it was a bit more nerve-wracking here than it was at little old Te Puke course,” Hillier said.
Despite the added pressure, Hillier kept his cool and credits his caddie, Keegan Wiltshier, for keeping him calm and focused throughout the tournament.
“I hit it good all week but just made a few putts today. The first three rounds I struggled on the greens all week but today it clicked. My caddie Keegan kept me focused all week,” Hillier shared.
Looking ahead, Hillier has a series of tournaments in Argentina planned with the ultimate goal of making it to the Korn Ferry and PGA Tours. However, he understands that it will take continued hard work and determination to achieve these goals.
“It’s a long way to go and I have to keep grinding,” Hillier said. With the help of Wiltshier and his own dedication to the sport, there's no doubt that Hillier has a bright future in the world of golf.
