PGA Professional – Full-Time Coaching and Retail Role

The Clubroom Tauranga at the Tauranga Golf Club The Clubroom Tauranga is seeking a motivated and passionate NZPGA Professional to join our team in a full-time coaching and retail role based at Tauranga Golf Club.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to establish or accelerate their coaching career within one of New Zealand’s most progressive golf retail and coaching businesses. The successful candidate will be reliable, personable, hardworking and selfmotivated, with a genuine passion for helping golfers improve and enjoy the game.

 The Clubroom Tauranga operates as part of the wider The Clubroom group, delivering premium golf retail, coaching, events and development programmes across multiple locations and partnerships nationally. Our Tauranga operation is a flagship coaching and retail site, strongly embedded within the local golfing community and supported by proven systems, marketing, technology and business infrastructure from the wider The Clubroom network. This creates genuine long-term career opportunities and professional development for the right person.

Our Tauranga coaching base features a full coaching and fitting studio utilising TrackMan 4 and GCQuad technology, modern coaching environments, strong junior pathways, and access to an extensive and highly engaged golfing community. Tauranga Golf Club has over 1,200 members and a very active playing membership, providing excellent exposure and coaching demand.

This role will include a strong mix of junior coaching, individual lessons, group programmes, club fitting and retail involvement, with the opportunity to build a substantial personal coaching business inside a supportive team environment.

The Role Includes

• 20+ hours of coaching per week available (with growth potential)
• 10–15 hours per week in our premium retail store
• Full support from an established coaching team, systems, marketing and customer base 
• Opportunity to be involved in major events, junior pathways, academies and club programmes
• Long-term career development within a growing national network 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver a professional and exceptional member and customer experience
• Grow junior golf through structured programmes, individual coaching and group sessions
• Build and retain a strong personal coaching client base
• Club fitting and equipment consultation
• Retail store duties and customer service
• Maintain NZPGA Professional standards and best practice
• Use of CoachNow, DotGolf, Lightspeed, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Build positive relationships with members, staff, suppliers and partners
• Contribute to the wider growth and culture of The Clubroom business

• High level of professionalism, reliability and initiative
• Passion for junior development and coaching pathways
• Confidence working in both coaching and retail environments
• Ability to operate independently while contributing positively to a team culture
