Mitchell Kale ready for Carrus Open

The Clubroom ambassador Mitchell Kale is eyeing up the Carrus Open title after recording his best-ever finish in a Charles Tour event.

As part of the Jennian Homes Charles Tour, the Carrus Open will see more than 120 professional and elite amateur golfers tee off in Tauranga on September 28 to October 1.

Fresh from finishing top 10 in the Christies Floorings Mount Open, Kale said he was looking forward to playing his home course next week.
The Clubroom ambassador finished ninth with a final round four-under par to finish -6 for the week in Mount Maunganui.

“It was my best finish in a Charles Tour event.”

Kale is in good form posting a top 5 finish in the Bay of Plenty Open at Whakatane Golf Club last weekend and was runner up in the Cambridge Classic earlier this month.
“To be honest, I have been struggling a bit with confidence the last 10 rounds before this week. To close out with a nice last three rounds is really cool.
“It is good to get a bit of confidence heading into my home course.”

Kale said playing at home was a “huge advantage” and he was hoping for a solid week ahead.

“You are always eyeing the trophy going into any tournament, but next week I am just looking at getting some solid golf in. It would be nice to make everyone proud.”

Cambridge Classic champions and The Clubroom representatives Tania Ellis and Nathan Clark will also tee off at the Carrus.

The Clubroom Tauranga’s very own Hayden Beard and Carson Van Asselt are also stepping out of the pro shop and onto the course for the tournament.

Before the Carrus Open, junior golfers will tee off in The Clubroom Tauranga’s Junior Pro-Am on September 26. The Clubroom Tauranga director Hayden Beard said the event was a great chance for junior golfers to play with the pros and gain confidence in their game.

“It is a great warm-up for the pros and a lot of fun for our aspiring golfers who get to share the course with some of their idols and maybe gain some top tips.”
The Clubroom wishes everyone all the best for the tournament.
