Momoka Kobori Wins The NSW Women's Open
Adidas Player Momoka Kobori has won the NSW Women's Open picking up her second win on the WPGA Tour, defeating amateur Claire Shin in a playoff at Forster-Tuncurry Golf Club.
Kobori, who is ranked 208th in the world, shot 70, 70, and 71 to finish eight under par, ultimately parrying the first extra hole to secure victory in the same tournament where Lydia Ko, her fellow Kiwi and idol, won.
However, Kobori's regulation play was not without drama, as her ball rolled off the tee just before she made contact with her tee shot on the 72nd hole, resulting in a tee shot that found the rough on the right side.
She proceeded to hit her second into a greenside bunker, but managed to get up and down to force a playoff with the local amateur. Shin then three-putted the first extra hole for a bogey, which proved to be enough for Kobori to secure the win.
