Research shows that 83% of a putt's starting direction is influenced by the direction of the putter's face at impact (the path of the putter head controls the other 17%). Lie Angle Balance (L.A.B.) Technology takes into account lie, angle, and weighting to create a putter that stays square to the arc throughout the stroke, delivering a square putter face at impact. Essentially, L.A.B. has created a perfectly balanced putter, eliminated torque, and, with no further adjustments, allowed golfers to make a consistent, repeatable putting stroke using far less effort.
Crafted with input from Adam Scott, the half-moon-shaped OZ.1 is the first Lie Angle Balanced putter with a tour-inspired design. Unlike L.A.B.'s other mallets, this putter features a solid-body construction and is fine-tuned to sound and feel more "normal." Most importantly, the OZ.1i maintains the same levels of forgiveness and stability L.A.B.'s mallets are renowned for, offering performance on par with the exceptionally popular DF3 and MEZZ.1 MAX.
The OZ.1 and OZ.1i are exactly the same in terms of size and shape. However, the i variant is the first L.A.B. putter model to employ a face insert. The stainless steel insert produces a firmer feel, faster ball speeds, and a less muted sound than the standard OZ.1.
L.A.B. outfits their putters with their own Press Grips, and for good reason. Almost all of the best golfers in the world employ a forward press because it helps the ball track faster and roll truer while reducing unwanted skidding and backspin. Unfortunately, positioning your hands ahead of the ball is difficult to learn and execute. Press Grips establish forward lean through the grip design, eliminating another putting stroke variable.
Purchased oz1i from club room albany, Friendly staff nice and clean environment.
Would have been better if someone told me there will be a sale next day could have saved $200hahaha
Still cant read putts but at least the ball ends up where I'm aiming now.
The guidance I received while trying out different putters was second to none, no pressure on choosing the putter I bought after 4 hrs deliberation I went back and tried the putters again .
The after 40 minutes again of no pressure from the staff I decided on my purchase.
Very happy with it
Great putter! Way more stable than my blade putter and rolls nicely straight off the face
Not sure about the offset grip ... may change it. The sighting lines ... personal preference is to align off the top line and have filled in the target sight line. Had to adjust to feel and distance but that said, happy to have it in my bag.
