The new Studio Style line represents the most noteworthy revision of Scotty Cameron's blade putter offerings in years. Twelve new models blend the illustrious putter-maker's legendary craftsmanship and design with cutting-edge new materials, performance, and technology.
The new Carbon Steel face insert highlights every Studio Style model, an homage to the 20th anniversary of Cameron's original GSS insert. Scotty experimented with and rigorously tested numerous metals before finalizing the insert material, ultimately selecting Carbon Steel for its unmistakably soft sound and feel. Borrowed from the aerospace and automotive industries, a new electroless nickel plating technique prevents the corrosion issue commonly seen in previous carbon steel putters without inhibiting the soft feel coveted by tour professionals such as Jordan Spieth.
Scotty finishes the Carbon Steel insert with a new chain-link face milling pattern. The byproduct of months of testing at Scotty's famed Putter Studio, this milling technology reinforces the insert's exceptional feel while producing tour-preferred roll characteristics and speed control, infusing confidence into every putt.
Completely re-engineered from the ground up, the Squareback 2 now features a broader shape than any of the "Plus" models, a central cutout, and a black aluminum heel-toe inlay. These enhanced design elements, combined with the aircraft-grade aluminum sole plate, shift weight to the head's perimeter, resulting in mallet-like levels of MOI, stability, and forgiveness. Not only is it a key component to the putter's dramatic performance boost, but the black anodized aluminum inlay also creates a two-tone perpendicular alignment that helps square the putter to the target, improving aim. The Squareback 2's I-beam plumbing neck suits players with a moderate arc in their stroke.
